Sometimes the biggest festival stories aren’t about headliners, they’re about the underdogs getting their shot. That’s exactly what happened at Louder Than Life 2025, when Chained Saint vocalist Sean Sterling was invited on stage with deathcore giants Slaughter To Prevail.
The teen thrash band were meant to play earlier in the day, but weather delays cut their set short. Rather than letting it end there, Slaughter To Prevail frontman Alex Terrible and guitarist Jack Simmons pulled Sterling up during their main stage finale, handing him the mic for the guttural climax of ‘Demolisher’.
For Sterling (just 19 years old), it was a surreal, passing of the torch type moment in front of one of the biggest crowds of his life. The video quickly spread online, with fans calling it the ultimate example of veteran bands looking out for the next generation.
Who Are Chained Saint?

Chained Saint are barely out of high school, but they’re already making waves. The four piece consisting of Ethan Kahn (guitar), Sebastian De Avila (bass), Cameron Cottrell (drums), and Sean Sterling (vocals), built their name the old school way, starting in garages, hitting local stages, and slowly working their way into festival line-ups.
Their debut album Blindside (produced by Alice In Chains’ William DuVall) dropped in 2024, earning nods from heavyweights including Rob Halford and Alice In Chains themselves. SiriusXM Liquid Metal picked up their tracks, while their single ‘Animosity’ (below) landed on the WWE 2K24 soundtrack.
