When We Were Young has always leaned hard on emo and pop-punk nostalgia, blink-182, Panic! At The Disco, Avril Lavigne, the bands that sound tracked skate videos and warped summers. Tucked into the neon artwork of the poster though? Acts ready to push things into darker, heavier territory. Enter Knocked Loose!
Formed in 2013 out of Oldham County, Kentucky, Knocked Loose have bulldozed their way from DIY halls to festival main stages without compromising the sheer brutality of their sound. Their blend of hardcore, metalcore, and pure nihilistic energy has made them one of the most important heavy bands of the past decade. Albums like Laugh Tracks and A Different Shade of Blue set the pace, but it was 2024’s You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To that confirmed their place as torchbearers for modern hardcore. The record’s suffocating breakdowns and Bryan Garris’s piercing vocals hit like a panic attack captured on tape.
Live, they’re a different beast altogether. Knocked Loose shows are infamous, pits exploding like grenades, crowds howling every syllable, the kind of set that feels more like a riot than a gig. Dropping them onto the same bill as Yellowcard, Simple Plan, and The Maine isn’t just contrast, it’s collision. It shows When We Were Young isn’t just selling nostalgia, it’s acknowledging that the heavier side of the scene is thriving right now.

At the Las Vegas Festival Grounds on October 18–19, 2025, Knocked Loose will stand shoulder to shoulder with I Prevail, Beartooth, and Ice Nine Kills to represent the heavier corner of the line-up. Their presence is a reminder that while emo may have provided the heart of the 2000s, hardcore is what’s keeping the blood pumping in 2025.
For fans, that means a huge variety of music and a wall of sound that will cut straight through the Vegas desert air!
