When We Were Young Survival Guide: Everything You Need To Know Before Vegas Burns Again

Share

Las Vegas is about to be loud enough to wake the dead. When We Were Young Fest returns to the Las Vegas Festival Grounds on October 18 and 19, packing two days of pop-punk nostalgia, emo tears, and enough eyeliner to black out the Strip. Whether you’re flying in or crawling out of your local dive bar, here’s everything you need to survive the desert’s loudest weekend.

Getting There

The festival lives at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds, right on the northern end of the Strip. If you’re staying nearby, walk it, rideshares get messy when 80,000 people hit the same exit at once. Coming from the airport? A 15-minute Uber will get you there faster than a mid-2000s breakdown riff.

Where to Stay

The official When We Were Young travel packages include discounted rates on two to five night stays at featured hotels around Las Vegas and Downtown Vegas. Each bundle comes with a GA, GA+ or VIP ticket, plus access to the 7-Eleven Welcome Party, commemorative items, nightclub entry, and exclusive add ons like a Bottomless Sunday Brunch or Premium Open Bar upgrade.

Find out more on those here!

Keep in mind, prices depend on how many people you cram into your room (up to four), and everyone needs to buy their own package. Layaway and payment plans are available, but tickets are first come, first served.

Pro Tips

  • Hydrate like your life depends on it. Vegas heat doesn’t care how nostalgic you feel.
  • Budget for food and shade, the desert sun hits harder than ‘I Write Sins Not Tragedies’.
  • Hit the Welcome Party to meet your future mosh pit buddies before the fun really begins.

When We Were Young isn’t just a line-up, it’s a pilgrimage for the warped, the broken hearted, and everyone who still owns a pair of Vans from 2007. Pack light, plan smart, and make it out alive.
