Sleep Token Fans Slammed After Crowd Surfer Incident At Louder Than Life

Share

Sleep Token’s mystique usually pulls fans into a transcendent live experience, but their recent Louder Than Life set has been overshadowed by something much darker. Reports have surfaced that parts of the crowd were deliberately refusing to catch surfers, and one incident left a fan in the hospital with serious injuries.

Festival-goer Jasmine Vidrine has spoken out about what happened, alleging she was tossed onto her head on purpose during the band’s set. The impact caused a seizure, a concussion, and a minor brain bleed. Her account, posted publicly, paints a picture of both cruelty and kindness in the pit:

“I had to be pulled out of the Sleep Token crowd due to people tossing a surfer out of anger and he landed directly on top of my head. It knocked me out and I had a seizure once unconscious… I have sustained a major concussion and minor brain bleed.”

Vidrine also described the comfort of an anonymous woman who stayed by her side until she was carried out, thanking that stranger while blasting those who caused the injury:

“To the absolutely rude, ignorant, and disrespectful people in that crowd… I hope you feel like absolute [shit] for it.”

Witnesses in a Louder Than Life Facebook group allege that some fans were chanting “drop that bitch” as surfers went up, making the situation even uglier. For many long-time festival goers, this feels like a betrayal of the old school ethos, help each other up, don’t throw each other down.

Vidrine, who travelled 16 hours from Louisiana for the festival, says her four day pass was effectively cut short. She ended her post with brutal humour aimed at those responsible:

“I hope you stub your toe on every single corner you find and I hope your next hangnail rips all the way to your knuckles.”

Sleep Token themselves haven’t commented on the incident, but fans online are rallying around Jasmine with well wishes, and raising questions about pit culture in 2025. All the best to Jasmine and fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.
