Michigan metalcore titans I Prevail have unleashed their latest blow with ‘Annihilate Me’, a vicious new single taken from their upcoming fourth album Violent Nature, out September 19 via Fearless Records. The track arrived this week with a stark lyric video directed by Anthony Tran, doubling down on the album’s darker themes of pain, shame and self-destruction.
From the opening lines, “I lie here with the maggots / waiting for the rain” – ‘Annihilate Me’ leaves no room for subtlety. Vocalist Eric Vanlerberghe drives the song with raw venom, while the band channels a punishing mix of jagged riffs and pounding rhythm. It’s unflinching, bleak, and exactly the kind of firepower fans have come to expect.
The release follows earlier singles ‘Into Hell’, the title track ‘Violent Nature’, and the more reflective ‘Rain’. Together, they sketch a record that promises both aggression and vulnerability, refusing to flatten their sound into one dimension. Vanlerberghe has spoken about leaning into honesty on this cycle, and ‘Annihilate Me’ is that honesty at its ugliest — embracing the “king of suffering” persona while daring listeners to stare straight into it.

A New Chapter
Violent Nature is also notable for being entirely produced by bassist Jon Eberhard, giving the record an even sharper, self-contained identity. With Vanlerberghe now carrying full lead vocal duties, the band seem more dangerous than ever.

This new chapter in I Prevail’s evolution isn’t just studio bound either. The band are set for two huge festival performances this fall.
Hitting Louder Than Life in Kentucky this September and When We Were Young in Las Vegas this October, where Violent Nature will no doubt make its live impact.
