Hot Mulligan Write Kyle Fletcher’s AEW Anthem ‘Prototheme’

Share

In a move nobody saw coming, emo heavyweights Hot Mulligan have stepped into the wrestling world, dropping their latest single, ‘Prototheme’, as the official entrance anthem for AEW’s Kyle Fletcher. The Lansing, Michigan crew debuted the track to thousands at Globe Life Field during Fletcher’s entrance at AEW’s All In pay-per-view, introducing the new anthem under the stadium lights in what was easily one of the night’s standout surprises.

For Fletcher, the track arrives at a pivotal moment. Going into All In, fans were tipping the Aussie wrestler to claim the TNT Championship, especially with the title vacated after Adam Cole suffered a concussion just days before the event. We know wrestling can be very unpredictable though! Instead of Fletcher’s crowning moment, a four-way match saw veteran Dustin Rhodes, the Texas legend himself, claim the belt in his home state. Sentimental? Sure. But Fletcher’s rise feels inevitable, especially now that he’s got a theme song dripping with energy to back him up.

As for Hot Mulligan, this collab makes strange sense. Known for chaotic live shows, jagged guitar lines, and emo lyrics that walk the line between heartbreak and irony, the band’s sound translates surprisingly well into a wrestling entrance theme. ‘Prototheme’ fuses their signature post-hardcore infused emo with just enough muscle to soundtrack Fletcher’s walk to the ring.

For those new to the band, Hot Mulligan have long been cult favourites in the US alt scene. Blending Midwest emo tones with pop-punk hooks, they’ve carved out a name for themselves by being as emotionally raw as they are sonically fierce. With ‘Prototheme’ now in rotation at AEW events, their name’s bound to hit a whole new audience.
