Hayley Williams Drops New Single “Good Ol’ Days” Ahead Of Physical Release Of Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party

Hayley Williams has dropped “Good Ol’ Days”, an R&B-tinged new single drawn from the final physical edition of her solo album Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party, due 7 November.

When you’ve spent two decades fronting one of rock’s most defining bands, going solo means more than a few riffs and a good chorus. For Hayley Williams, this next chapter is audacious and intimate, and she’s now serving up a taste of it with her new single, “Good Ol’ Days”.

Released on 24 October, “Good Ol’ Days” lands as one of two previously unheard songs locked for the physical edition of Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party, which hits stores on 7 November. The track was debuted live at the Rolling Stone ‘Musicians on Musicians’ event at The Beacon Theatre, New York, Williams sharing the stage with Bleachers.

R & B Influences

Musically, “Good Ol’ Days” leans into R&B tinged grooves rather than full on rock, suggesting Williams isn’t just revisiting her past but shifting its prism. The move makes sense when you reflect on how Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party rolled out, a bold surprise drop of 17 un sequenced singles earlier in the year, fans encouraged to build their own track lists and participate in the fun.

Signing the physical release with two bonus tracks signals the end of that wild, democratic experiment and the beginning of a controlled chapter. Williams is now self releasing via her imprint Post Atlantic (distributed by Secretly), breaking free after fulfilling her contract with Atlantic.

For the Blunt reader, someone raised on punk’s wild edge and metal’s uncompromising bark, Williams’ pivot is compelling. She’s far from playing it safe, the sonic palette broadens, the lyrics sharpen, and the solo identity she’s carving out no longer simply echoes her Paramore past.
