Hatebreed Return With First New Music In Five Years: ‘Make The Demons Obey’

Share

Hardcore lifers Hatebreed have officially broken their silence. The Connecticut heavyweights just released ‘Make The Demons Obey’, their first slab of new music in nearly half a decade. It’s classic Hatebreed, hard hitting, no bs metallic hardcore and as uncompromising as ever.

The new single marks their first release since 2020’s ‘Weight Of The False Self’, reminding the scene why Hatebreed remain kings of hardcore aggression. You can stream ‘Make The Demons Obey’ now wherever you get your brutality.

On The Road

‘Make The Demons Obey’ isn’t the only thing keeping Hatebreed in the headlines, in fact far from it.

The band resurrected the infamous Summer Slaughter tour this year, dragging the beast back from the dead for its first run in years. Kicking off July 8 in Florida, the 2025 edition is running through July 28 with support from Fugitive, Gridiron, Incite, Escuela Grind, and Snuffed On Sight on select stops.

However, this tour hasn’t been without setbacks. As Blunt previously reported, guitarist Wayne Lozinak was forced to exit their European run last month following a brain tumour diagnosis. He’s set to undergo a craniotomy on August 4, with the band carrying on in his absence. Matt Bachand (Shadows Fall) has stepped in on guitar, while Carl Schwartz (First Blood, Terror) is holding down bass duties.

Louder Than Life Festival

Louder Than Life 2025 Line Up

Despite the adversity, Hatebreed are powering ahead, not just with Summer Slaughter, but also their appearance at Louder Than Life Festival, which we spotlighted earlier this month.

Louder Than Life 2025 hits Louisville, Kentucky this September 25th to 28th. Hatebreed are set to headline Friday (26th) nights proceedings. Everything you need to know about the festival, including your tickets can be found here!

With ‘Make The Demons Obey’ out now and a new album likely on the horizon (there are rumours of a new full length next year), Hatebreed are proving once again that nothing stops hardcore!
