Manchester hardcore crew Guilt Trip have officially signed with Roadrunner Records, stepping into a new chapter with the release of their latest single ‘Burn’.
The five-piece, Jay Valentine (vocals), Jak Maden (guitar), Sam Baker (guitar), Tom Aimson (drums), and Lily Kilcoyne (bass), bring a heavy blend of thrash and hardcore that’s already carved them a place in the UK’s underground. ‘Burn’ marks their first release under the Roadrunner banner, pairing rapid fire riffs with a breakdown written to send crowds into a wall of death without hesitation.

Speaking on the track, Maden compared it to old Machine Head, calling it “a metal song with hardcore influences sprinkled in,” and pointing to its live-ready hook. The band themselves credited Roadrunner as a major influence in their sound, making the partnership feel like a full circle moment.
Old Fashioned Rise
Formed back in 2015, Guilt Trip built their name the old way, sweaty basements, cramped clubs, and word of mouth momentum. Their 2019 debut River of Lies and 2023’s Severance cemented them as one of the UK’s most uncompromising heavy acts, with collaborations alongside Malevolence and LANDMVRKS pushing their profile even higher. Festivals like Download and Hellfest proved their reach beyond Manchester, now it’s time for the world stage.

That stage arrives fast. Guilt Trip are hitting the road across the US this fall with Kublai Khan, tearing through venues coast to coast. They’ll also stop by two of the year’s biggest gatherings, Louder Than Life in Louisville (today) and New England Metal and Hardcore Fest on September 20.
‘Burn’ is just the opening shot of what’s shaping up to be a massive year, with more singles and a debut LP set to drop in 2025.
