Finn Wolfhard Announces ‘Fire From The Hip’ Album, Releases ‘I’ll Let You Finish’

Finn Wolfhard ‘Fire From The Hip’ ‘I’ll Let You Finish’ is the latest curveball from a name most people still associate with screens, not stages.

At this point, pretending his music career is a side quest feels very much outdated, the actor turned musician has released a new single ‘I’ll Let You Finish’ alongside confirmation that his second album ‘Fire From The Hip’ lands July 10th

A sharper, bigger swing at indie rock

‘I’ll Let You Finish’ builds on the scrappy indie rock foundation Wolfhard laid with last year’s Happy Birthday, but there’s a noticeable shift here, the edges feel cleaner, the scope wider, and the whole thing leans more into a cinematic kind of polish without ditching the DIY heart.

Wolfhard describes the new record as a step up in fidelity and ambition, saying (per press release):

“I grew up in such an incredible time for pop culture, of course my music is influenced by these events I lived through.”

That influence runs deep across Fire From The Hip, with nods to cultural nostalgia and a collaborative energy that pushes the project beyond bedroom recording territory.

From lo-fi beginnings to something bigger

If Happy Birthday felt like a grainy snapshot, this new record is aiming for something more deliberate, Wolfhard has framed the shift as moving from a tape style aesthetic into a more expansive sound, pulling inspiration from records like Exile on Main Street and Beggars Banquet.

Recorded at Pachyderm Studios in February of this year, the album leans heavily on collaboration, Wolfhard worked alongside close friends and creatives who helped shape the final product into something more layered and considered.

“I’ll never forget recording this album. It was such a special experience being surrounded by some of my closest friends, whose support meant a lot to me. They brought so many incredible ideas to the table and their creativity helped shape the record into what it is,” he says.

More than a side project

It’s easy to be cynical about actors crossing into music, but Wolfhard’s trajectory suggests he’s taking this seriously, a sold out US tour in 2025, a packed London headline show, and festival slots at Lollapalooza and Osheaga point to something with real momentum.

With Fire From The Hip, he’s not reinventing himself completely, but he is clearly trying to stretch beyond the novelty factor, whether it lands long term is still up in the air, but there’s enough intent here to suggest this isn’t just a hobby.
