The former co-vocalist of I Prevail has re emerged with his new project titled Scatterbrain. An unfiltered, deeply personal venture that pulls no punches. The new music snippet dropped via a raw, unscripted reel on July 7, where Burkheiser revealed the chaotic, emotional origins of the debut demo/project.
Update 4.48pm AEDT July 11th. Brian has taken to a TikTok live and dropped a LOT of Scatterbrain news. We are in for not one but two full lengths albums (featuring 15 to 20 tracks each). Phases 1 and Phases 2, with the first song set to drop next month, it’s available for pre order/save right here!
There was so much more, more details coming very soon.
‘This is my trauma. SCATTERBRAIN has arrived,’ the caption reads. Paired with a graphic featuring lightning bolt emojis and a half exposed skull, holding a mic with a brain lit in neon pink. Pretty gnarly, we must say. The tone is vulnerable, intense and radically honest. Burkheiser says the track was originally written eight months ago, with long time collaborator Tyler. The video however, came together in under 24 hours. It was shot during a time that he describes as a manic episode, just a week prior.
Behind the lens is Kurt Mackey, an emerging creative force Burkheiser calls one of the most talented people in the music industry. Alongside friend and producer Ben, the team captured something real and raw, without polish and without filter. The result is a visual and emotional reality check that sheds all the theatrical layers, in favour of confronting Burkheiser’s mental health head on.
For The Right Reasons
‘I’ll only do this project for good, and surround myself with the best people moving forward. I love you Caylin and Benson’, states Burkheiser. A clear signal that Scatterbrain isn’t chasing charts, it’s chasing truth.
The official Scatterbrain TikTok (@scatterbrainofficial) is live, already stirring up conversation as fans and fellow musicians react to Burkheiser’s vulnerability. With no label campaign or polished rollout, it will be a joy to watch the evolution of Brian Burheiser’s Scatterbrain, a project built entirely on heart and very real, no gimmicks.
