Interview: Wednesday 13 On Halloween Roots, Horror Movies And US Tour Talk

Share

Horror punk icon Wednesday 13 talks ’80s cinema, Michael vs. Jason, collectibles, revisiting Murder Dolls, making a horror movie and his upcoming US tour dates.

With Halloween days away, we sat down with horror punk veteran Wednesday 13 to dig into his childhood as an ’80s kid, the nightmare flicks that shaped him, and what it means to keep the macabre fun alive in 2025.

Horror influences

Growing up immersed in horror and hair metal, Wednesday recalls buried film nights and riff heavy soundtracks. When asked the crucial question of the genre bender universe “Michael or Jason?” he didn’t hesitate, it’s almost like he had been waiting for it.

We discuss his favorite movie The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which was playing in the back drop of his studio and his collection of horror memorabilia isn’t just for show either, it’s part of who he is. Revisiting his love of Halloween III: Season of the Witch, the movie often overshadowed in the franchise, Wednesday says its great to see a lot more people are connecting with it.

Revisiting the past and making horror

Wednesday took time to reflect on his former band Murder Dolls and praised their impact while also admitting he remains his own worst critic. He says the follow up to his April 2025 album Mid Death Crisis is taking shape, and as if that weren’t enough, he’s tentatively exploring making a horror movie, because the man lives between the screech and the silence.

Dreams, collabs & future line-ups

On the collab front, Wednesday said topping Alice Cooper is next to impossible but imagine horror icons crossing paths with metal heavyweights. He teases a dream line-up of monstrous proportions, and it sounds as fiendish as it does stellar. Once again, he did not even hesitate or stop to think on who it would be!

US tour dates

The night of ghouls continues as Wednesday is set to hit the road across the US in early 2026, doling out leather and blood theatrics. Keep an eye out for the full list of dates, you’ll want to be part of it.
