Gallery: Avril Lavigne At When We Were Young 2025

When Avril Lavigne stepped on stage at When We Were Young in Las Vegas, it was all about nostalgia, rebellion and full volume pop-punk fun. The set kicked off with ‘Girlfriend’, snowballing into full throttle sing alongs and instant classics.

She tore through ‘What the Hell’ and ‘Complicated’ like a punk princess reclaiming her throne, then slowed it down just enough for ‘Here’s to Never Growing Up’ before tipping into raw emotion with ‘My Happy Ending’ and ‘I’m With You’. You know that nostalgia hit hard!

The surprise duet with Simple Plan for ‘Young & Dumb’ added a genuine spotlight moment, fans who know the history felt that one. Of course, she closed the riotous set with ‘Bite Me’ and ‘Sk8er Boi’, salt in wounds of comfort, a full circle moment for fans that have been down from the early 2000s.

Everywhere you looked, sea of hands in the air, voices singing every chorus, the connection was nothing short of electric. The production, the staging and the crowd all aligned for this one, making for an unforgettable set!

The gallery from photographer Heather Martinez captures the reckless joy of it all, check it out below:

Lavigne did more than just show up, her voice sliced through the festival atmosphere, backed by a band that knew the score and a crowd that came ready. For those of us who cut our teeth on pop-punk back in the day, the performance was more than a set, it was a reminder that this scene still kicks.

If you weren’t there, scroll through the gallery and feel it, whether you were front row or watching from a screen, this one lands in the memory bank. The princess of pop-punk showed she’s still got the crown and we cannot wait to see her continue that momentum into 2026 and beyond!
