The endgame is finally here, Stranger Things Season 5 is on the horizon, and if the teaser’s anything to go by, Hawkins is about to be ground zero for a very ’80s apocalypse.
After dragging out the supernatural carnage for what feels like forever (those kids are looking more like college grads than high school misfits at this point), the Duffer Brothers are wrapping their small town nightmare with a three part final season. Yes, Netflix is milking it, but at least the ride looks chaotic enough to justify one last trip to the Upside Down.
The plot? Hawkins is ruined, The Rifts are open, Vecna’s vanished. On top of this, Eleven is back in hiding as the government tightens its grip on the town. With the anniversary of Will’s original disappearance looming, the final showdown is on the cards and it’s not looking pretty.
In short: if they don’t kill Vecna soon, Hawkins might not be around much longer.
Returning for this synth drenched swan song are fan favorites Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Sadie Sink, Joe Keery and the rest of the original party, plus Linda Hamilton stepping in as yet another sketchy scientist.
When’s it dropping? Netflix is turning the holiday season into a binge fest:
- November 26 – First four episodes
- December 25 – Next three episodes
- December 31 – The big finale
Expect at least one forgotten ’80s banger to dominate TikTok by the end of it.
Will they stick the landing? Honestly, Stranger Things has been riding the nostalgia wave dangerously long, but fans deserve a proper send off. Either way, the final battle for Hawkins is coming and after all this build up, they’d better not screw it up. Let’s be real though, you’re watching it anyway.
