Avril Lavigne is getting into the wine game, the pop-punk icon has teamed up with California’s Banshee Wines to release her first ever wine collab, a limited edition Pinot Noir called Complicated.
The small batch bottle takes its name from Lavigne’s breakout 2002 single, a track that helped cement her as a global superstar. According to Banshee, the wine is “light, velvety, and layered with bright notes of cherry and raspberry”, designed to channel both Avril’s creativity and the winery’s signature style.
In a statement, Lavigne explained that the partnership grew naturally over the past two years on her Greatest Hits tour, where the Banshee bar became a fixture backstage. “Teaming up on our own wine just felt right,” she said. “I hope that everyone can crack open a bottle with their best friends, blast the music that started it all for me, and enjoy the moment. Life can be complicated, but a good glass of wine doesn’t have to be.”

Lavigne now joins a long list of musicians with vineyards and labels. Tool’s Maynard James Keenan has been running Caduceus Cellars in Arizona since 2009, while Snoop Dogg famously partnered with 19 Crimes for his Cali Red blend. Lavigne’s collaboration adds a pop-punk twist to a space usually dominated by rock veterans and hip-hop heavyweights.
Beyond the wine itself, Banshee and Lavigne are also making the launch count for something bigger. The company has pledged a $10,000 donation to She Is The Music, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering women across the music industry.
