Sonic Temple’s Third Wave Brings Death Metal To Ohio

Share

The blackened underbelly of Sonic Temple 2026 has arrived, and it’s as brutal as it gets.

The Columbus, Ohio festival has unleashed a death metal heavy third wave that drips with menace, we are talking:

Behemoth
Dethklok
Cradle of Filth
Dying Fetus
Cattle Decapitation
Suffocation
Nekrogoblikon

A darker layer for Sonic Temple

If the first announcement set the stage with deathcore giants like Lorna Shore, and the second round gave us a metalcore takeover, this one plunges into death metal’s most sinister depths. Behemoth bring their occult theatre, Dethklok promise animated carnage turned flesh, and Cradle of Filth keep the gothic flames alive.

Meanwhile, Dying Fetus, Cattle Decapitation, and Suffocation stack the line-up with some of the most uncompromising brutality North America has ever produced. For a twisted curveball? Nekrogoblikon round it out with their goblin fronted absurdity, because extreme metal should be terrifying, but it’s allowed to laugh too.

Five Stages of Carnage

The 2026 edition is already set to be the biggest Sonic Temple yet, with five stages and more than 30 extra acts compared to previous years, it’s the kind of expansion designed to push fans to their limits.

Sonic Temple has carved out its place as one of the U.S.’s definitive heavy music gatherings, and 2026 looks like the year it goes completely over the edge. The festival takes over Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, May 14–17, 2026, turning the football ground into a four day temple to all things loud, fast, and aggressive.
