Rob Zombie is back in full swing, dropping a brand-new single and music video titled ‘Heathen Days’, the latest look into his upcoming album The Great Satan, due out February 27 via Nuclear Blast Records.
The track arrives hot on the heels of ‘Punks and Demons’, and continues Zombie’s long running mission of welding horror, metal and industrial grit into something unmistakably his.
Where the last single leaned into stomping industrial metal, ‘Heathen Days’ snaps into a different gear. This one drags Zombie’s punk roots into thrash territory, hitting quicker, sharper and higher energy levels. The video doubles down on the signature aesthetic, a fever dream stitched together with grindhouse imagery, practical effects grime and Zombie’s own brand of cinematic filth. It feels purpose built to melt across festival screens next year.
The Great Satan marks his first full length since 2021’s The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy, the surprise chart topping record that landed Zombie at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales Chart for the first time in his career. That album drew rave reviews, with longtime guitarist John 5 calling it “the best Zombie record to date,” a statement that set the bar almost impossibly high.
Four years later, the follow up is finally ready, and if the first two singles are any indication, Zombie is sharpening every corner of his sound rather than reinventing it. The production is gnarly, the riffs hit with purpose and the pacing feels tighter than anything he’s released in years.
With the album dropping in February, the full tracklist reveals a spread of classic Zombie titles like ‘Sir Lord Acid Wolfman’, ‘Revolution Motherfuckers’ and ‘Black Rat Coffin’ which suggest he’s leaning even harder into the B-movie meets metal universe he’s spent decades building.
