Lorna Shore Unleash Bloody New Video For ‘Prison Of Flesh’

Share

Lorna Shore are back with another exercise in extremity, and this one’s not for the faint of heart. The New Jersey deathcore heavyweights have dropped the music video for ‘Prison of Flesh’, a fresh cut from their upcoming album I Feel The Ever Black Festering Within Me, out September 12 via Century Media Records.

Directed by David Brodsky, the clip is as grotesque as it is cinematic. We’re talking full-blown horror, a woman cannibalising her husband (it happens, haha), followed by a nightmarish, alien-style birth, all while the band plays in a literal rain of blood. It’s stomach turning, theatrical, and unmistakably Lorna Shore.

Like the sound of that? Check it out below!

Vocalist Will Ramos says the track is exactly what fans might expect from the band at their most uncompromising:

“We took all the heaviest stuff we had to create this incredibly dark, high-stress song. I think the breakdown at the end is one of my favourites we’ve ever written.”

But beneath the brutality lies a personal core. Ramos reveals the lyrics draw from his family’s history with dementia, exploring the fear of losing your grip on reality:

“The closer they get, the further detached you become until you’re nothing but a husk of fear and delusion.”

I Feel The Ever Black Festering Within Me

Musically, ‘Prison of Flesh’ is pure Lorna Shore, dizzying blast beats, hellish orchestrations, and Ramos’ inhuman vocal range pushing the tension to breaking point. That climactic breakdown? It’s as crushing as the band has ever sounded, primed to level venues when it makes its live debut.

I Feel The Ever Black Festering Within Me follows 2022’s Pain Remains, the album that cemented Lorna Shore as one of modern extreme metal’s most talked-about acts. If ‘Prison of Flesh’ is the barometer, their next chapter will be just as savage, if not more unhinged.

North American Tour

Once the album drops, Lorna Shore will hit the road for a North American tour alongside The Black Dahlia Murder, Shadow of Intent, and Peelingflesh, a lineup that all but guarantees chaos in the pit.

Bloody, unrelenting, and unafraid to stare straight into the abyss, Lorna Shore’s latest is a reminder they’re still operating at the bleeding edge of deathcore.
