Limp Bizkit Teams Up With Influencer To Leak A New Single

Share

It looks like Limp Bizkit are finally ready to dust off the baggy jeans and let loose with new music and, true to form, they’re doing it in the wildest way possible. Rather than a straight press release or a big DSP drop, the nu-metal icons have tapped into influencer culture to “accidentally” leak a fresh track.

Earlier today, drum influencer Kristina Rybalchenko posted an Instagram video hammering out beats to what she called an unreleased Limp Bizkit song. The caption “When you leak a new @limpbizkit song and get busted by @freddurst” — left little doubt that this wasn’t your run of the mill cover. Fred Durst himself even pops up at the end of the clip, mock pleading with her not to spill the goods.

From the short snippet on offer, the track is unmistakably Limp Bizkit. It’s got the thick riffs, elastic grooves, and wink and a smirk attitude that’s kept them both loved and loathed in equal measure since the late ’90s. It doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but that’s never been the point. Limp Bizkit have always thrived on being unapologetically themselves, abrasive, goofy, and oddly catchy all at once.

Nu-Metal Resurgence

The timing couldn’t be sharper, Nu-metal has been clawing its way back into the mainstream with younger crowds rediscovering the genre through TikTok edits and video game soundtracks. Bizkit’s 2000 anthem ‘Rollin (Air Raid Vehicle)’ is set to appear in Madden NFL 26, while last year it resurfaced on Beatstar. Their 2021 comeback album, Still Sucks, proved the band hadn’t lost their knack for out there fun, earning solid reviews for its stripped back energy.

Keep Your Eyes Peeled

Now, with influencer leaks kicking off the hype cycle, the band seem to be embracing the mess of internet virality rather than fighting it. It’s a move that feels strangely on brand for Fred Durst and crew: part troll, part marketing stunt, and just reckless enough to get people talking.

There’s no official word on when the full track will land, but if Bizkit are already handing the keys to influencers, fans should keep their eyes peeled. The new era of Limp Bizkit might be about to roll out – sideways cap and all.
