HEALTH have dropped their haunting new single ‘YOU DIED’ from the upcoming album CONFLICT DLC, out December 11. Inspired by Dark Souls, the track blends trip-hop tones with industrial melancholy.
Los Angeles industrial outfit HEALTH have unveiled their haunting new single ‘YOU DIED’, the latest preview from their upcoming album CONFLICT DLC, arriving December 11.
The track pulls its name from the infamous death screen in Dark Souls, and much like the game, it’s cold, cinematic, and devastatingly atmospheric. Stepping away from the punishing aggression of their previous releases, ‘YOU DIED’ finds HEALTH embracing a slower, almost trip-hop rhythm, laced with shimmering synths and melancholy vocals that ache with romantic despair.

In tone, ‘YOU DIED’ feels like a deliberate contrast to the band’s recent output. Just last month, HEALTH dropped ‘THOUGHT LEADER’, a bleak reflection on digital isolation and emotional detachment and ‘VIBE COP’, a brutal collaboration with Lamb of God’s Willie Adler that pushed their sound into heavier, metallic territory.
Speaking with NME, frontman Jake Duzsik described CONFLICT DLC as a direct continuation of their acclaimed 2023 record RAT WARS, but with sharper edges and more energy.
“If RAT WARS feels like a concept record in this expansive landscape,” Duzsik explained, “then CONFLICT DLC is going to distinguish itself by being more uptempo, more bangers, more fun and sh*t I know will be fun to play live.”
So far, the band’s rollout suggests an album that stretches their sonic reach, blending metallic textures, industrial pulse, and a strange beauty lurking beneath the distortion.
