HEALTH Drop ‘VIBE COP’ With Lamb Of God’s Willie Adler

Share

HEALTH have returned with one of their heaviest offerings yet, ‘VIBE COP’, a new single featuring Willie Adler of Lamb of God. The track is pulled from their upcoming album CONFLICT DLC, set to arrive December 11 via Loma Vista Recordings.

The band, who’ve leaned into the tongue in cheek “cum metal” tag in recent years, aren’t pulling any punches here. ‘VIBE COP’ is a jagged industrial assault, built on crushing electronics and an extra dose of guitar firepower courtesy of Adler. As HEALTH themselves quip, the song “contains more guitars than usual”, but the end result is less joke, more obliteration.

CONFLICT DLC

The single is the second preview of CONFLICT DLC, following ‘ORDINARY LOSS’. If that first taste set the mood, ‘VIBE COP’ slams the door shut, focussing on themes of societal collapse and personal alienation. Adler’s presence pushes the track into territory that fans of both industrial and groove laden metal can appreciate.

HEALTH’s new record spans 12 tracks, building on the maximalist aesthetic they’ve carried from RAT WARS through to now. It’s pitched as a score for survival in a collapsing world, bleak, uncompromising, but oddly cathartic. The full track list includes titles like ‘TRASH DECADE’, ‘THOUGHT LEADER’, and ‘DON’T KILL YOURSELF’, pointing to a record that’s as self aware as it is crushing.

  1. ORDINARY LOSS
  2. BURN THE CANDLES
  3. VIBE COP
  4. TRASH DECADE
  5. TORTURE II
  6. ANTIDOTE
  7. DARKAGE
  8. SHREDENVY
  9. YOU DIED
  10. THOUGHT LEADER
  11. DON’T KILL YOURSELF
  12. WASTED YEARS

For now, ‘VIBE COP’ is out everywhere, serving as a reminder that HEALTH are still pushing boundaries, still too heavy for easy categorisation, and still writing “sad bangers for the end times.” CONFLICT DLC lands December 11.
