New album incoming
The announcement lands as the band continues building anticipation for their upcoming studio album, which frontman Jamey Jasta has already described as the heaviest material the band has ever written.
“This is our most ignorant, heavy, caveman-esque record yet. We really just went back to basics, played on all our strengths,” Jasta recently said.
“There’s no melody, so we won’t even bother with that.”
The follow up to 2020’s Weight Of The False Self is reportedly nearing completion, with Jasta confirming the album is currently being mixed and mastered ahead of a planned fall release.
The new era of Hatebreed also follows a turbulent period for the band, including lineup changes and guitarist Wayne Lozinak recovering from brain surgery in 2025 after being diagnosed with a benign meningioma while touring Europe.
Despite the setbacks, the band appears more aggressive than ever, Drummer Matt Byrne recently described the new material as “SLAYER-esque,” adding that it’s “the fastest, most vicious, and most aggressive music we have ever created.”
Between a new album, worldwide touring plans and Summer Slaughter looming, Hatebreed are making it very clear they have zero intention of slowing down in 2026.
