From Ashes To New Stand Up To Bullies As ‘Die For You’ Continues Its Massive Rise

Share

From Ashes To New are proving that being a rock band is about more than chart positions and streaming numbers.

Fresh off the success of their first ever No. 1 rock radio single, “Drag Me,” From Ashes To New has launched “Die For You” as the latest radio single from their new album Reflections, and they’re using its momentum to make a statement that extends well beyond the music.

The track has already amassed more than 11 million global streams and is quickly becoming another major hit for the band, but it was a recent interaction with a fan that truly showcased what From Ashes To New is all about.

After posting a video of a fan passionately singing “Die For You” at one of their concerts, the band noticed cruel comments targeting her online. Rather than staying silent, they stepped in immediately.

Vocalist Matt Brandyberry addressed the situation publicly and even spoke about it from the stage, making it clear that bullying has no place within the band’s community, From Ashes To New also reached out to the fan directly, offering her a lifetime spot on the guest list for future shows.

“All I could see was a beautiful soul having a beautiful moment,” Brandyberry said.

“As a father of a son who dealt with some of these same things, there is no way I would let that behavior go unaddressed. Our fans mean everything to us and I will always do whatever I can to make them feel safe in our fandom.”

Co-vocalist Danny Case echoed that message with an even more direct response.

“I will always use my platform to fight back against assholes, especially when it comes to our fans.”

Reflecting on his own childhood experiences, he added:

“Growing up, I was the scrawny undersized kid with red hair so I know what it’s like to be targeted… Sometimes, all it takes is having someone stand up for you to make a difference. I never had that.”

Music With A Purpose

The band’s commitment to supporting its community doesn’t stop there, From Ashes To New has partnered with HeartSupport, the mental health organization founded by August Burns Red frontman Jake Luhrs, alongside Fandiem, to launch a charity campaign tied to this year’s Louder Than Life festival.

The campaign offers fans the chance to win flights, hotel accommodation, VIP festival passes, side stage access during the band’s set, a meet and greet, exclusive merchandise and a signed guitar, all while raising funds to support mental health initiatives.

All of the details here.

It’s another example of the band using its growing platform to encourage conversations around mental health, resilience and creating a welcoming environment for fans.

A New Chapter With Reflections

Released as the follow-up to 2023’s Blackout, Reflections almost looked very different.

The band originally demoed 16 songs before making the difficult decision to scrap almost the entire record and start over, keeping just two tracks from the original sessions.

That gamble has clearly paid off.

Reflections has already produced the band’s first No. 1 rock radio single with “Drag Me,” while “Die For You” is quickly building on that success and introducing even more listeners to From Ashes To New’s blend of modern rock, metalcore and hip-hop influences.
