New single paves the way for debut album Die Close, out June 27 via Pure Noise Records
Gothic sludge outfit BLOOD VULTURE born from the twisted mind of Two Minutes to Late Night’s Jordan Olds has unleashed its second single, ‘Grey Mourning’, featuring a searing guest solo from Jade Puget of AFI.
Check out the video here:
Olds reflects on the collaboration:
“AFI was my gateway to punk, hardcore, and goth when I was in middle school. Jade Puget shaped how I played guitar and wrote songs, he’s melodic, unpredictable, and completely original. ‘Grey Mourning’ is this relentless wall of chromatic death metal riffs, and throwing Jade into that space just made perfect sense. His solo was everything I hoped for, wild, unique, and exactly the kind of contrast I wanted.”
He adds:
“Freshman year, I bought a black Les Paul studio just because I saw him play one in the ‘Leaving Song Pt. II’ video. I actually used that same guitar to replicate his solo for our music video. Full circle doesn’t even cover it. Also, yeah the song’s about vampires.”
