Black Sabbath’s hometown farewell is getting the plastic brick treatment, because when you’re the godfathers of heavy metal, even LEGOLAND bows down!
As Birmingham prepares for ‘Back To The Beginning’, Sabbath’s final ever hometown gig this weekend, the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre has unveiled a full blown tribute. Ozzy, Tony, Geezer and Bill reimagined in LEGO, standing tall in a mini Villa Park stadium!
The scene joins LEGOLAND’s Miniland installation, which showcases local icons and landmarks. Now, alongside Cadbury World and the Bullring, you’ll find a pint sized Osbourne, round glasses and all, immortalised in ABS plastic and Sabbath glory.

“We wanted to honour the band’s last show in the city where it all began,” said Amy Langham, LEGOLAND Birmingham’s general manager. “Our builders had a blast bringing Ozzy to life and we hope Sabbath fans of all ages love it.” Mission accomplished!

The real life show? It’s history in the making. Titled Back To The Beginning, the event will be hosted by Jason Momoa (because why the hell not?) and features an outrageous lineup of guests. Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Billy Corgan, Slash, Duff McKagan, Alice In Chains, members of Tool, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Disturbed and Tom Morello, who’s also acting as musical director. No pressure!
Tickets vanished in 16 minutes when they dropped in February, with 150,000 fans scrambling for a chance to witness the send off. Around 300,000 people are expected to descend on Birmingham for the weekend, with local estimates predicting a £20 million ($27M USD) economic boom. For everyone else, the gig will be live streamed globally.
