Bad Omens Unleash Eerie New Single ‘Specter’ Ahead Of Major 2025 Festival Slots

Share

Bad Omens have returned from the shadows with ‘Specter’, a slow-burning, cinematic dive into the darker edges of their sound. Out now via Sumerian Records, the track opens in a swirl of airy, fragile ambience before erupting into a heavy, full bodied chorus layered with unsettling electronic textures. It’s a sound that feels equal parts ethereal and claustrophobic, leaning into the band’s knack for mood-driven song writing rather than aiming for a straightforward radio punch.

The accompanying video, co-directed by frontman Noah Sebastian and Nico, leans fully into the song’s haunted atmosphere. Actor Ryan Hurst, recognisable from Sons of Anarchy makes an appearance, deepening the visual’s grim, fantasy driven storyline about loss, betrayal and the supernatural. It’s the sort of world building Bad Omens have been quietly perfecting, letting their music and visuals feel like chapters of the same story.

‘Specter’ is the first taste of new material since their breakout era with The Death of Peace of Mind, which notched multiple Gold certifications and the Platinum hit ‘Just Pretend’. More recently, the band pushed boundaries with Concrete Jungle [The OST], an experimental reimagining of their 2022 record. With ‘Specter’, they’re not sprinting into a new chapter, they’re letting the tension build.

Bad Omens Live In 2025

That tension will no doubt spill onto the stage this year, with Bad Omens booked for some of the biggest heavy music gatherings in North America. They’ll be a headliner at Louder Than Life (September 18–21, Louisville, KY), a four-day monster featuring Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, and A Perfect Circle, among others. Just weeks later, they top the bill at California’s Aftershock (October 2–5, Sacramento, CA), where the line up boasts Blink-182, Korn and Deftones.

With heavy rock seeing a documented rise in arena and stadium draws, Bad Omens are positioned exactly where they thrive, inside the growing demand for intense, high-concept live shows. If ‘Specter’ is any indication, their next run isn’t just about playing festivals. It’s about building a myth, one ominous note at a time.
