As I Lay Dying Hint At North American Tour For ‘Shadows Are Security’ 20th Anniversary

Share

Metalcore veterans As I Lay Dying appear to be preparing a North American leg of their Shadows Are Security 20th anniversary tour. The move comes after the band confirmed a string of European dates earlier this year, set to kick off in late October.

The tour marks two decades since the release of Shadows Are Security, the band’s landmark 2005 album that helped define mid 2000s metalcore with tracks like ‘Confined’, ‘Through Struggle’, and ‘The Darkest Nights’. While the European leg already has venues locked in across Russia, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, and more, fans in the U.S. and Canada are now watching the band’s socials closely for an official announcement.

In a post shared online, the group teased: ‘Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Shadows Are Security. An evening with As I Lay Dying. Join us for a special tour featuring performances from Shadows Are Security, along with fan favorites from across the band’s career.’

The Catch?

At present, Tim Lambesis is the only official member left in the lineup, years of public fallout between Lambesis and his former bandmates have left him standing alone under the As I Lay Dying banner. Personal controversies, including messy divorce proceedings and leaked private videos with ex wife Dany Ciara, have only amplified questions about the band’s stability.

Despite the turmoil, Lambesis has kept the As I Lay Dying machine moving. Now working under FM Music Management, he seems determined to push forward with the anniversary shows, though no word yet on who will join him on stage.

Watch This Space

Whether this tour becomes a true revival of the Shadows Are Security era or just a one man attempt to keep the name alive remains to be seen. What’s certain is that the album still resonates with fans, and the anniversary shows could draw big numbers if executed well.

European tour kicks off October 30 in Moscow, with stops through November across Eastern and Western Europe. North American dates have not yet been revealed.
