The Marvel Cinematic Universe has taken plenty of wild detours over the years, but none quite as gnarly as this. The freshly dropped trailer for Marvel Zombies leans all the way into gore, carnage, and comic book cannibalism, and honestly, it’s metal as hell.
This four part animated series expands on the What If…? episode “What If… Zombies?!” and drags the concept into full blown nightmare mode. The setup is simple: Earth’s mightiest heroes are infected, and what’s left of humanity is forced to carve a path through their once beloved icons. The official synopsis keeps it straightforward, survivors racing across a ravaged world, hunting for a cure while dodging the bite of super powered corpses. Simply put, the title is the story.

Fan Favorite’s Return
The voice cast is stacked with both fan favorites and some unexpected returns. Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi doesn’t escape infection, instead turning his Ten Rings into a grim weapon against the plague. Elizabeth Olsen is back as Scarlet Witch, bringing a touch of horror royalty to the line-up. Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova and Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop give the younger generation some firepower, while David Harbour’s Red Guardian and Wyatt Russell’s U.S. Agent provide the grizzled muscle.
Elsewhere, Awkwafina joins as Katy, Randall Park returns as Jimmy Woo, Tessa Thompson swings in as Valkyrie, and Dominique Thorne keeps Ironheart in the spotlight. Paul Rudd is still around as Ant-Man, though reduced to a wisecracking head in a jar. The biggest curveball? Todd Williams stepping in as Blade Knight, a mash-up of Blade and Moon Knight that feels ripped straight from a fever dream.

Visually, the trailer doesn’t hold back. Blood splatters, decapitations, and superhero cannibalism are all front and centre. One of the standout moments? Spidey slicing through a swarm of undead with his webs in a shot that’s equal parts brutal and badass.
Marvel Zombies drops all four episodes on Disney+ September 24, 2025. Fans of the comics already know it’s going to get ugly, but in animated form, the MCU has never looked this unhinged.
