Mark Hoppus, Marvel theme song writer? Pop-punk meets preschool TV and it kinda slaps!
Mark Hoppus has added “Marvel theme song writer” to his already chaotic resumé and somehow, it makes perfect sense. The Blink-182 bassist and eternal teenager has penned (and performed) the theme for Iron Man and His Awesome Friends, a new animated series coming to Disney Jr. this August.
Check it Out Below
Titled ‘Totally Awesome’, it’s what you’d get if Take Off Your Pants and Jacket got blasted with gamma rays. It’s zippy, colourful and full of Saturday morning cartoon bounce, basically Blink with a juice box in hand and a cape flying behind. Aimed at preschoolers, sure, but it’s catchy enough to make even the most cynical millennial hum it between doom scrolls!
The show features a junior Tony Stark teaming up with Ironheart (Riri Williams) and Iron Hulk (Amadeus Cho) to take on baddies like Ultron and Swarm. Think tiny Avengers with oversized tech, landing just in time for Marvel to start raising its next gen superfans from the cradle. Shorts drop July 14, full episodes premiere August 11 and they’ll hit Disney+ the day after airing.

Not Just A One Off
This isn’t even just a case of a cute one off. This is Marvel actively planting punk roots in kid culture, something we honestly can’t be mad about. If your kid’s first exposure to distorted guitars comes from a Hoppus penned riff, that’s a win.
Hoppus joins a weirdly stacked tradition, Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump previously lent his pipes to Spidey and His Amazing Friends. Now it’s Mark’s turn to bring some SoCal bounce to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s kid friendly multiverse.
So yeah, 2025 might be the year your toddler starts singing Blink style hooks about saving the world, and honestly? That’s kind of beautiful.
