Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell are officially teaming up again, and this time it’s not fast food nostalgia or a ‘Good Burger’ revival.
The longtime friends and former Nickelodeon staples are set to star in and produce ‘Kenan & Kel Meet Frankenstein’, a new horror-comedy movie that’s scheduled to begin production this summer.
It’s definitely real and it sounds exactly like something you’d stumble across on late night TV and end up watching all the way through.
The script is being written by Jonah Feingold (‘31 Candles’, ‘At Midnight’), and the film is said to pay tribute to the classic Abbott and Costello Meet… monster comedies, where two regular guys get tossed into the supernatural and survive purely on vibes and bad decisions.
The project is co-produced by Thompson’s Artists for Artists company and Range Media Partners, with Range’s Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Pete Micelli handling sales.
Thompson and Mitchell will also produce alongside Artists for Artists co-founder John Ryan Jr., as well as Kavanaugh-Jones and Carter Swan, executive producers include Will Hariton, Azim Spicer, and Monica Weber.

What’s the plot?
Thompson and Mitchell will play delivery drivers “whose routine drop-off takes a terrifying turn when they arrive at a creepy, out-of-place castle and accidentally awaken Frankenstein’s monster — turning an ordinary night into a fight for survival,” the movie’s logline reads (per Hollywood Reporter).
So basically, one wrong stop, one suspicious castle, and suddenly you’re sprinting for your life from a stitched-up legend.
Kenan and Kel speak
The duo last worked together on 2023’s ‘Good Burger 2’ for Paramount+, but this one feels like a different lane, leaning into horror while still relying on their built in chemistry.
“Kel and I have always loved finding new ways to work together, and this project felt like the perfect mix of nostalgia, comedy, and something completely unexpected,” Thompson said.
“We’re excited to bring a fresh take on a classic monster story and have some fun doing it.”
Mitchell added, “Coming back together always feels natural, and this lets us tap into everything people love about our dynamic while trying something totally new. It’s funny, it’s scary, and it’s a great ride.”
No release date has been announced yet, but if you grew up on Kenan and Kel, this one’s already worth keeping an eye on.
