Keanu Reeves has finally ascended, literally. In the first full trailer for Good Fortune, the beloved action star trades guns for wings as Gabriel, a well meaning but low ranking angel on a mission to save a lost soul. That soul is Arj, a burned out gig worker played by Aziz Ansari, who also writes and directs the upcoming comedy.
Gabriel’s usual heavenly assignment? Stopping people from texting while driving. When he sets his sights on something more ambitious however, like helping Arj find real meaning, things get chaotic fast. To teach Arj that money isn’t the cure for his existential burnout, Gabriel transports him into the body of his own boss: Jeff, a reckless billionaire played with full Rogen energy by Seth Rogen. Cue a Freaky Friday style identity crisis wrapped in divine intervention.
The trailer shows Gabriel charging headfirst into human life with wide eyed enthusiasm, not unlike John Travolta in Michael, or if you’re feeling arthouse, maybe even Wings of Desire without the Nick Cave cameos. Just don’t confuse this with Good Omens, this is more hijinks than holy scripture.
‘Good Fortune’ Trailer:
Rounding out the cast are Keke Palmer as Elena (likely Arj’s love interest), Sandra Oh as Gabriel’s bossy celestial superior, and Cherry Cola and Stephen McKinley Henderson in undisclosed roles.
Good Fortune is clearly leaning into feel good absurdity with a strong comedic trio up front. But if it doesn’t question that whole “money doesn’t fix your life” trope, expect some side eyes from audiences who know damn well it helps.

Good Fortune is hitting US cinemas October 17, 2025 and looks like it will be right up your alley if you are after a feel good movie with not too much to think about. Aside from money not buying happiness of course!
