The Funeral Portrait aren’t just riding the emo revival wave, they’re reanimating it with every hook laced hymn. The Atlanta outfit dropped ‘Evergreen’ today. A stripped back, heart on sleeve gut punch taken from the 24 track deluxe edition of their album Greetings From Suffocate City – From Beyond The Abyss, out now via Better Noise Music.

Frontman Lee Jennings calls ‘Evergreen’ “an attempt to put all of our anxious thoughts into one place.” It’s moody, melancholic and brutally personal, a slow burn built for staring at your ceiling at 3am. The video, a fast cut montage of the band’s rise from club openers to festival mainstays, reminds us just how far they’ve come since 2022’s breakout ‘Voodoo Doll’.

The deluxe edition bundles everything, tracks from their Cassanova and From Beyond the Abyss EPs. They’ve teamed up with Z2 Comics for a 44 page graphic novel, Welcome to Suffocate City, spinning the twisted lore of Irving Westhound and the Coffin Crew Cult into vivid ink and page.
