Denver’s own Fox Lake are back with their animated video for new single ‘Freestyle’, featuring AVOID. The track is a groovy, bounce fuelled middle finger to the critics and genre purists who don’t get what Fox Lake are about. Which of course is, zero f**ks given, and they’re not apologising for it!

‘Freestyle’ lands ahead of the band’s upcoming album New World Heat, set to hit on August 1 via MNRK Heavy. If this track is anything to go by, the record promises to be a genre smashing riot that mixes hardcore grit, nu metal bounce, hip hop flow and pure adrenaline. The band formed in 2017 to break out of the cookie cutter metalcore mould and with New World Heat, they’re torching any remaining boundaries.
The album’s core? Burn it down and build something better. Fox Lake say it’s about tearing apart the parts of yourself and the world around you that don’t serve you anymore, habits, beliefs, systems, whatever weighs you down. The message is clear, act or drown in your own complacency.
Musically, they’re doing the same. Stripping away limitations to create something that just sounds like Fox Lake. Expect faster, heavier, groovier and catchier from front to back! The album’s stacked with collabs too, including Mugshot, Silent Planet, Eyes of Salt and more.
