Bring Me The Horizon To Drop Lo-Fi Album ‘Lo-Files’, This Friday

Share

Bring Me The Horizon are tapping into their chill side. The UK genre shifters have announced Lo-files, a 23 track lo-fi album featuring ambient reinterpretations of songs from across their discography. The surprise release lands this Friday, July 11, via all major streaming platforms.

The band first teased the project on social media earlier this week, describing it as “lo-fi versions” of Bring Me The Horizon tracks created in collaboration with producers from the lo-fi scene. According to the band, the reworks are designed for “chilling, focus, sleeping, zoning out… whatever u like.”

The following day, they confirmed the full drop: Lo-files includes 23 reimagined cuts – slowed down, stripped back and built for relaxation. Early previews shared across their Instagram offer ambient backdrops paired with tour footage and backstage clips, giving fans a taste of this new sonic direction.

It’s a far cry from the chaos of Post Human: NeX GEn, but not entirely out of nowhere. Frontman Oli Sykes hinted at a looser, less pressurised creative approach following that album’s release. In a 2024 interview with Kerrang!, he said, “We wrote so much for NeX GEn. I’d love to get out a director’s cut or something, but I’m trying not to overpromise. Just taking it easier.”

With Lo-files, Bring Me The Horizon aren’t chasing the pit, they’re scoring your study session. The move leans into the ever growing overlap between heavy music and ambient subgenres, offering fans a different kind of escape.

Whether you’re deep into the lo-fi rabbit hole or just need something mellow from your favorite chaos merchants, Lo-files might be the most peaceful thing Bring Me The Horizon have ever done.

Lo-files drops this Friday, July 11. YES, this Friday! Pre-saves are available right here!
