Vitriol’s Kyle Rasmussen Gives Update After Band Fallout And Gas Station Abandonment

Share

Vitriol’s Kyle Rasmussen has shared another update after the wild sequence of events that saw him stranded at a gas station on the Vermont/New York border and effectively left as the band’s only remaining member.

The situation unfolded after a dispute with his now former bandmates, which ended with Rasmussen being dropped at Felder’s Convenience, a gas station in Redwood, New York.

The fallout forced Vitriol to pull out of their headlining run with Weeping, only weeks after they’d unveiled a new lineup for the tour.

In his latest video, Rasmussen thanked fans for rallying around him and singled out Felder’s Convenience for stepping in when everything went sideways. The staff not only witnessed the drama but also agreed to store his gear, merch and belongings while he figured out how to get home.

As he put it, “Relying on the goodwill of people this entire time has been extremely humbling.”

Rasmussen explained why hopping on a plane, train or bus wasn’t really an option, saying:

“We have about three weeks worth of merchandise loosely smashed into this Jeep, which is the largest vehicle that Hertz had available for us. I have all my equipment, all of our luggage, with that being said, we, of course, have our dog, which complicates things further.”

The Maggie Ghost and Kyle tour begins now

He’s now on the road with his partner Maggie and their dog Ghost, joking that “The Maggie Ghost and Kyle tour begins now.” The plan is to head to Chicago, then continue on to Denver to link up with producer Dave Otero, who mixed and mastered Vitriol’s 2024 album Suffer & Become.

Rasmussen signed off with an interesting promise:

“And then after that, Denver, to kiss that beautiful David Otero on the mouth. I’m coming for you, buddy. Okay, give me more cocaine.”

In his Instagram update, he reassured supporters that the donations sent in have put them in a stable position:

“Maggie and I are perfectly secure and won’t have any issues making our way home. Any extra funds that remain after our journey home will go towards paying off various debts that Vitriol has been saddled with making this tour happen.”

He closed with a stark mission statement: **“The future not only looks bright for the three of us, but for Vitriol as well.

You can’t kill what is already dead.”**
