Brisbane’s alternative rock trio The Comfort have dropped their final single before the release of new album Let The Love In, arriving Friday, October 3 via BreakThrough Records. The track, titled ‘Garden State’, carries a bittersweet mix of melancholy and resilience, as vocalist and bassist Dominic Harper reflects on what it means to exist outside the norm.
“‘Garden State’ is a song about feeling out of place in the world. It wrestles with the idea of not quite fitting into what’s considered ‘normal’,” Harper said. “At its core, Garden State is a letter to myself, or a kind of self pep talk to get out there, love people, love myself, and fully live life.”

Though rooted in self doubt, the track ultimately leans into acceptance, offering a reminder that life outside the status quo can hold its own power and beauty.
Building Toward Let The Love In

‘Garden State’ follows earlier singles ‘Isolate.Fixate.Deteriorate.’, ‘Down (How Many Times Can I Lose Everything)’, ‘Blossom’ and ‘Stay’, the latter earning The Comfort recognition as Kerrang! Radio’s Featured Artist of the Week. The album was recorded with ARIA nominated producer Callan Orr, who helped sharpen the band’s heavier edges while preserving the melodic depth that has long defined their sound.
