Kublai Khan TX Unleash ‘The Mountain Of Corsicana’ With Haunting New Video

Share

Texan hardcore juggernauts Kublai Khan TX have returned swinging with their brand new single, ‘The Mountain of Corsicana’. Dropped via Rise Records alongside a stark new video directed by Max Moore (Knocked Loose, Spiritbox, A Day To Remember), the track hits with the kind of weight only this band can summon.

Where past releases often went straight for the jugular, ‘The Mountain of Corsicana’ feels darker and more reflective. The lyrics carry imagery of loss, inevitability, and the transformation of man into monument: “What was once a man / Now is a mountain.” It’s heavy, not just in tone, but in atmosphere, an unflinching piece that hits hard.

The Video

The video, shot at OHD Studios in Kentucky and featuring horses from Black Horse Manor, leans into that stark imagery. Between the bleak landscapes, crushing performance shots, and shadowy cinematography from Nate Spicer, the clip feels like a visual representation of mortality itself. It’s less a hardcore video and more a short film, another reminder of why Max Moore has become one of the most recognisable directors in heavy music.

On The Road

Kublai Khan TX describe the track as “a monument to the final man,” and vocalist Matt Honeycutt delivers the words like he’s chiselling them into stone. It’s a fitting release ahead of the band’s stacked U.S. headlining run with Drain, Gideon, and Guilt Trip, which kicks off September 18 at Louder Than Life in Louisville, Kentucky. The tour will wrap October 26 at the Palladium in Los Angeles, with Throwdown stepping in for a special final night.

This single also arrives during a new chapter for the band following longtime guitarist Nolan Ashley’s departure earlier this year, due to complications from a 2023 disc replacement surgery. Taking his place on the road is Nicholas Adams of Justice For The Damned, who’ll help carry the band into their next era.
