Killswitch Engage have dropped their latest gut punch of a video, ‘Aftermath’. This is more than just a slab of crushing metal, it’s a battle cry for the planet.
The track appears on the band’s latest album, This Consequence. Available now via Metal Blade Records. Released in February, the album has already delivered big time! Including a Top 10 single (‘I Believe’) As well as lighting up magazine covers and powered KSE through a packed out Winter/Spring tour.
In true Killswitch Engage fashion, ‘Aftermath’ isn’t content with just melting faces. The band teamed up with major environmental organisations. Including Basel Action Network, Clean Water Action, Riverkeeper and Save Coastal Wildlife. To shine a brutal spotlight on the damage we’re inflicting on our planet. The video, produced by Good Eye: Music Visuals, pairs the track’s ferocity with stark images of environmental collapse. The aim? The urgent fight to reverse it.
Frontman Jesse Leach pulls no punches: “‘Aftermath’ is about the wreckage left behind after tragedy, be it war, disaster or betrayal and the strength it takes to rebuild. It’s a call to arms. We’ve taken so much from this planet and now it’s on us to fix it.”
He adds, “Whether you’re crawling out of personal grief or facing the fallout of another disaster, we all have the power to create change. It starts with us, right here, right now.”
