Announcing their fourth full length album, “The Sound a Body Makes When It’s Still“, the new material is heading your way Friday, August 22nd via Wax Bodega. To accompany the news comes the first taste of what’s to come, a new single and video titled ‘And a Big Load’.
It’s Hot Mulligan at their most unhinged and unfiltered. Blistering guitars, throat shredding vocals and that familiar self aware sting! ‘And a Big Load’ is a bitter anthem about self sabotage and regret, equal parts cathartic and punishing. “Nothing good can come of me, I’m useless,” they wail, channelling the gut sick honesty that’s earned them cult status.
The Visuals Are On Point:
“It’s the consequences of your own actions,” says guitarist and co vocalist Chris Freeman. “Our biggest conflicts and struggles are often self inflicted, You could apologise… or don’t, You could commit suicide, You could commit to being sober. Either way, you’re the one who has to deal with it.”
Album Details
The album title itself is pulled from a lyric about paranoia. As vocalist Tade Sanville says “With the album title, you can go the meditation route or the horror that you are in your body, and you have to exist. You have no choice, really.”
Hot Mulligan have always found beauty in the bleak and “The Sound a Body Makes When It’s Still” looks to be their most cohesive and emotionally raw record yet.
