Fozzy are back in action, dropping the video for their latest single, ‘Fall In Line’, a riff heavy track that leans into the band’s signature mix of arena rock swagger and metal grit.
Fronted by wrestling veteran Chris Jericho and guitarist Rich Ward (of Stuck Mojo fame), Fozzy’s latest release doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it doesn’t really need to. ‘Fall In Line’ sticks to what’s worked for them over the last two decades: sharp riffs, massive choruses, and a straight-up call for listeners to, as Jericho puts it, “never fall in line.”
Speaking about the track, Jericho described it as one of their more “unique” songs, not because it strays too far from their usual sound, but because it pulls from different corners of their catalogue. “In some ways, it has the familiar Fozzy sound that’s been our trademark for 25 years,” Jericho said. “But in other ways, it sounds nothing like anything we’ve done before.”
The single was produced and mixed by Johnny Andrews, alongside Ward and Wyatt Oates. If you’ve listened to bands like Three Days Grace or Halestorm, you’ll hear a similar polish here.
The video, directed by Lawrence Hinson, was shot at HM Studios in Las Vegas. A pretty no frills visual, but it matches the song’s heavy, straightforward energy.
‘Fall In Line’ is out now via Madison Records, and while Fozzy aren’t exactly rewriting the metal rulebook, fans of their riff driven, festival friendly sound will likely find plenty to like.
You can also expect to hear this one live soon, Jericho has already promised it’ll be a staple of their next tour.
