Dead7 Unleash ‘PLEASE’ Featuring Invent Animate’s Marcus Vik, Announce Debut Album

Share

St. Louis shapeshifters dead7 have dropped the hammer with their new single ‘PLEASE’, a grinding emotionally chaotic anthem featuring a knockout guest spot from Invent Animate frontman Marcus Vik.

Available now via SharpTone Records, the track blends drop tuned devastation with sugary pop instincts, blurring the line between lust, vulnerability and submission. According to vocalist Jason Kozik, the song’s origin was tongue in cheek: “We were making a joke about being kind of horny… If you say ‘please,’ you could tell me to do anything.” It’s flirty, filthy, and surprisingly sweet, wrapped in a haze of low end chugs and synth laced hooks.

The single is taken from dead7’s upcoming debut full length, ‘LOVE WHAT YOU CAN WHILE YOU GOT SOMETHING LEFT TO LOVE’ which drops July 11. The 10 track release leans hard into emotional volatility, twisting grief, desire, and decay into something both crushing and catchy. Produced by long time collaborators Caleb Freihaut and Ben McGuiness, the album is inspired by Loathe, Bring Me The Horizon, and Three Days Grace, expect cinematic breakdowns and tortured melodies in equal measure.

The band featuring Kozik, Dexter Greer, Tim Quinn, Stephen Salyer and Zach Guinn only launched in 2022 but are already rising fast. They’ve racked up streams in the hundreds of thousands, shared stages with Incubus, Bad Omens, and The Pretty Reckless! Now with SharpTone backing their next chapter, dead7 look set to break out beyond the Midwest underground.

Tracklist highlights include ‘TATTOO’, ‘FLOATING’ (featuring Aaron Matts), and of course the dirty, dangerous plea of ‘PLEASE’.

‘LOVE WHAT YOU CAN WHILE YOU GOT SOMETHING LEFT TO LOVE’ drops July 11.
